Dana Jacklyn Roy was born and raised in the Bay Area. Growing up she was inspired to perform by Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, and many other pop stars. She began dancing at the age of 5, starting with jazz, ballet, tap, and gymnastics. She instantly fell in love with the performance aspect of dancing and quickly learned that she could express herself through such different styles.

Dana trained at Yoko’s Dance and Performing Arts Academy in Fremont, CA where she competed in all styles of dance. By the age of sixteen she began teaching ballet, jazz, tap, and lyrical to kids ages 3 and up. She also won the title of Miss Dance America at Kids Artistic Revue, a nationally recognized dance competition in Las Vegas. In 2005 she was a selected member of an ambassador group to perform in Japan to represent the United States. Dana also choreographed pieces for high school events, including Filipino traditional dances.

Today, Dana shares her love for dance at the University of California, Irvine. She is currently a dance major and has performed in shows as Physical Graffiti and Barebones. Dana began training in hip hop under Kaba Modern in 2008 and is a 2nd year returning member of the current 2009 team.
