Born a Taurus, on a magical starry night, little did baby Christopher Ian know the constellations had prepared him for a bright future. As a young child, television played a big role influencing Chris to dance (i.e. Soul Train, Music Videos, etc.). At the age of 12, Chris started putting on little dance routines at family parties.
Chris moved to Hacienda Heights and attended Glen A. Wilson High School. Here he took his dancing even further, training in ballet, jazz, and lyrical for 3 years; his last year being selected as an Officer to help lead the team. With little knowledge of the hip-hop dance community, Chris was informed by one of his instructors, KM alumni Nate Hodges, of his experience with Kaba Modern and was instantly intrigued. Chris immediately fell in love with the team, finding heavy inspired in Jia Huang’s Dream On . Kaba Modern soon became the foundation of what Christopher thought hip-hop dance was all about.
Christopher now attends California State Polytechnic University, Pomona as a Voice-Performance Major specializing in Commercial Technique. During his first 3 years of college, Chris immersed himself in all opportunities to grow as a dancer (i.e. Summer Intensives, Boogiezone, etc.) and joined Cal Poly’s Barkada Modern from June 2007-June 2008. After a short hiatus from the dance scene, Christopher auditioned for the 2009 KM team and was selected as one of six newest members. After completing his education, Christopher aspires to move to the Philippines, to utilize his training from Kaba Modern and Cal Poly’s Voice Department to build an entertainment career.
